Empowering survivors. Uniting communities.
Cancer Survivors Malaysia (CSM) is dedicated to improving the lives of cancer patients and survivors through peer support, education, and advocacy. We believe that no one should face cancer alone — and that survivorship extends far beyond treatment.
From the moment of diagnosis through treatment and into recovery, our community of survivors, caregivers, and volunteers is here to listen, guide, and uplift.
A Malaysia where every cancer survivor has access to support, understanding, and hope.
Compassion, community, dignity, and evidence-based information guide everything we do.

Understanding Cancer
Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against cancer. Here are some essentials everyone should know.
Cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow and divide uncontrollably, potentially spreading to other parts of the body. There are over 100 types, and each behaves differently depending on where it starts.
Tobacco use, excessive alcohol consumption, poor diet, physical inactivity, obesity, prolonged sun exposure, certain infections (like HPV and Hepatitis B), and family history can all raise cancer risk.
Many cancers are highly treatable when caught early. Regular screenings — mammograms, Pap smears, colonoscopies, and self-examinations — help catch warning signs before symptoms appear.
Unexplained weight loss, persistent fatigue, unusual lumps, changes in skin or moles, persistent cough, changes in bowel or bladder habits, and unusual bleeding should be checked by a doctor.
Roughly a third of common cancers are preventable through a healthy diet, regular exercise, avoiding tobacco, limiting alcohol, protecting your skin, and staying up to date on vaccinations and screenings.
A cancer diagnosis affects the whole family, not just the patient. Emotional support, peer communities, and accurate information can make a meaningful difference throughout treatment and recovery.
